Connect Transit is the public transit system in Bloomington-Normal. Use one of the 14 different routes to access shopping, entertainment, and dining in Bloomington-Normal. By using your Redbird ID card, you can ride Connect Transit for free.

Driving in Illinois

You may drive with a valid license from your home country for up to 90 days after your arrival. Please note that an International License is not valid in the state of Illinois. You can choose to either get an Illinois driver’s license or a temporary driver’s license if you wish to drive during your exchange experience. You will need a Social Security Number to apply for an Illinois driver’s license.
