I. Cultivate a Culture of Success and Belonging
1. Champion student success by strengthening retention and timely degree completion while advancing innovative, workforce-aligned learning models that integrate AI and expand pathways to graduation across all programs.
2. Advance inclusion and belongingness by closing retention and graduation gaps for students while measurably strengthening a college-wide culture of belonging.
3. Promote a community of well-being by embedding the eight dimensions of wellness into curricula, co-curricular experiences, and capital projects aligning interdisciplinary initiatives, general education, and facilities design to support students’ social, intellectual, and occupational thriving.
4. Bolster faculty and staff success by cultivating a connected, growth-oriented culture that prioritizes professional development, recognition, and long-term retention.
II. Foster a Culture of Responsible Stewardship
1. Improve efficiencies by deploying data-informed planning tools, consolidating and standardizing shared resources, and advancing coordinated infrastructure and digital innovation to strengthen academic quality and financial sustainability within the new resource allocation model.
2. Advance strategic enrollment management by right-sizing graduate programs, expanding international engagement, and accelerating philanthropic growth to sustain access, scholarships, and long-term vitality for the college.
3. Invest in infrastructure and operational resiliency by advancing long-term facilities reinvestment while aligning financial planning and shared-resource strategies to ensure continuity and stability.
4. Expand our commitment to a culture of sustainability by implementing a college-wide plan and increasing shared-resource participation to reduce waste, model responsible stewardship, and embed sustainable practices across operations.
III. Elevate Institutional Excellence
1. Increase the impact of our scholarly and creative productivity by strengthening accreditation, expanding and celebrating faculty output, amplifying public storytelling and brand visibility, and coordinating strategic support for external funding and interdisciplinary collaboration.
2. Meet the needs and aspirations of today’s learners by expanding flexible, accessible, and interdisciplinary program offerings including graduate, online, micro-credential, and community-engaged pathways that respond to emerging creative fields and diverse student populations.
3. Enhance institutional recognition by strategically promoting faculty, student, and program achievements, elevating national visibility, and supporting professional accolades and leadership engagement to strengthen the college and Illinois State University’s reputation.
IV. Expand Mutually Beneficial Partnerships
- Foster coordinated internal engagement by expanding interdisciplinary collaboration, updating policies to support cross-cutting research and creative work, and developing centers and initiatives that connect faculty, staff, and resources across the college.
- Enhance a culture of philanthropy by deepening alumni and donor engagement through structured programs, targeted outreach, and coordinated stewardship strategies that support sustained giving and long-term college growth.
- Target external engagement by expanding civic, industry, and community partnerships, increasing experiential and co-curricular opportunities, and strengthening state, educational, and professional collaborations to advance the college’s reach and impact.
