Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS) 106: Career Choice Course
IDS 106 is a one-credit hour, eight-week introduction to the theory and application of major and career decision-making for undergraduate students using Life Design Theory. It allows students the freedom to explore career paths through their experiences. Each semester, enrollment varies and is influenced by courses such as IDS 107 and IDS 128, which both focus on academic and career success.
“Taking IDS 106 was a good step for me. The panel was amazing, the career-specific odysseys gave me an idea of what I’m thinking about. Having an interview with someone in a field of interest helped me to get my foot in the door to my field, and I’m so grateful.”
“The most valuable discussion occurred when the instructor spoke with us about understanding ways to explore careers. She said that it’s OK to explore your options. You don’t have to have everything figured out.”
